How does BiggDate verify users?

Last reviewed by the BiggDate team

Short answer

Verification is optional. From your profile, you add your LinkedIn profile URL and a selfie; the BiggDate team reviews them manually and, if they match your profile, awards the Pink Tick. BiggDate does not ask for a government ID.

Verification is a one-time, optional process. In the app you submit your LinkedIn profile URL and take a selfie. A member of the BiggDate team checks that the LinkedIn profile and selfie match the person in your profile photos, then awards the Pink Tick.

Your LinkedIn URL and selfie are used for verification only and are not shown to matches. We do not ask for a government ID — if anyone claiming to be from BiggDate asks you for one, it is a scam.

Because verification is optional, not every member has a Pink Tick, and BiggDate does not run background checks. Use the usual care when meeting anyone new.
